pr | @elemis did the impossible again. This time, they've come up with a way to skip the double cleanse without losing any of the double cleanse benefits. I've double cleansed religiously since 2014. Cleansing oil or balm followed by gentle, low pH cleanser has been the best way I've found to break down and thoroughly remove makeup and sunscreen and clean my skin without drying it out at the end of the day. I don't like makeup remover or micellar water on cotton pads for everyday use because of the scrubbing. I don't like makeup remover wipes because so many don't actually remove makeup well, and also the scrubbing. Low pH cleansers that claim to remove makeup and sunscreen usually don't really get it all off in one go. Milk or cream cleansers usually do, but then they leave an oily film that needs either scrubbing with a washcloth or following up with a second cleanser to clean off anyway. Foaming cleansers strong enough to actually remove makeup and sunscreen in one wash are usually barrier-wreckingly harsh for me. (Senka Perfect Whip is a perfect example.) Oil to foam cleansers are the harshest of them all because they need extremely strong surfactants to foam up through the oil component. And then Elemis made the Pro-Collagen Hydrating Cleansing Mousse and solved the problem. It feels somehow lush and creamy without being waxy or oily. It can be used on dry skin like I did here or lathered into a milky foam and used on wet skin like a regular cleanser. It takes slightly more massaging to break down waterproof eyeliner than a cleansing oil or balm would, but not by much. And the satiny glide of the product and the gorgeous lavender eucalyptus spa treatment scent make the massaging enjoyable anyway. Then it rinses totally clean! It leaves my skin feeling super soft, super smooth, and hydrated without the film that other hydrating cleansers can create. Just silky and clean and fresh. It's amazing. I still double cleanse sometimes because I actually enjoy the process. But I love skipping it without sacrificing skincare completeness on most nights. I put the link in my stories.
