TI🌿 Fragrance deep dive: Terre d’Hermès - Green Rose Accord 🌹
In this post, I’m continuing the deep dive into a Terre d’Hermès–type formula from Fraterworks by breaking it down into small structural accords. This method helps me understand what each group of materials really contributes, even the smallest trace components.
Formula of the Green Rose Accord:
Citronellol 18
Ethyl Linalool 15
Geranium EO 2
Styrallyl Acetate 10% 8
Cis-3-Hexenol 10% 7
Triplal® 10% 3
Anisaldehyde 10% 2
Total 55
Today, I’m focusing on the Green Rose Accord. When isolated, it doesn’t smell like a classic rich rose. Instead, it reveals a fresh, green, slightly tart floral character built around geranium.
To my nose, it smells fresh, green, metallic, slightly rosy, and softly soapy, with crisp cut-grass facets and a subtle fruity-green vibrancy. It feels natural and diffusive, stretching from the top into the heart.
Rather than acting as a romantic rose note, this accord builds the signature geranium-leaf character listed in Terre d’Hermès. It brings freshness, lift, and, structure and together with the woody base, it shapes the core personality of the fragrance.
