Stranded far from home. Flights cancelled. Routes closed. When conflict in the Middle East disrupted air travel across the region, many Singaporeans suddenly had limited options to return home. Our teams at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs worked round the clock with our Embassies in the Middle East to assist those who sought help. In total, we assisted 618 Singaporeans and their dependents across four repatriation flights from Oman and Saudi Arabia. This was a Team Singapore effort. MFA worked closely with MINDEF, MOT, CAAS, ICA and other agencies, as well as Singapore Airlines, to ensure that the repatriation flights took place smoothly. MFA will continue to monitor the situation closely and stay in close contact with Singaporeans in the Middle East.
