LIPlease meet Frank my pet skink. He’s a lovely boy but evolution forgot about him.
EDIT: Wow, I'm blown away by how much love he’s getting! ❤️ I've been getting a lot of questions - he was a rescue who I received as a gift, and I love him dearly, but my journey with him has led me to do a lot of research into skinks and the terrible pet trade… unfortunately, many skinks sold in pet stores are taken from the wild, which is a very stressful and often deadly process for them, as most die in transit. It’s also decimating wild populations - Franks species is already critically endangered.
So please don’t impulse buy (any animal ever, and def not a rare reptile!). If you do still want one, remember they are a 20 yr commitment, need a HUGE tank, but and also please consider only adopting from a reptile rescue! If you must buy, please find a reputable, small-scale captive breeder who can verify the animal's origins. I’d hate for Frank’s viral moment to create more demand for wild-caught animals. They deserve to stay in the ecosystem they’re a critical part of, and are happiest in. #RescueReptiles #endangered

ALSENSITIVE WARNING ⚠️ a great hammerhead shark just washed up on shore at Juno Beach this morning and was missing its dorsal fin and tail. This is the result of sport/trophy fishing.
What makes matters worse is that this species is a great hammerhead which is of great conservation concern.
100 million sharks are killed every single year. Sport fishing for sharks is a horrible, wasteful and unnecessary practice that serves no purpose at all except to fuel the ego of these fishermen.
Share this to spread the word. We have to do better and work to protect these animals that do not have a voice. Sport fishing and trophy fishing for these large endangered animals is a very SICK practice.

SHNotty and Tytan are best friends — but they’re also as different as, well, a zebra and a rhino!
Yesterday afternoon, the contrast was singing loud and clear. Notty was feeling her stripes, while Tytan was (characteristically) not in a mood to kick up his hooves. Our little foal cavorted and cantered in her most convincing manner, but Tytan remained nonplussed.
In the end, respective pursuits complete, the pair agreed to walk off to their next activity together!
