Have you ever asked yourself how can I make my factory better Well here is one way that definitely will not work. Think building your steam engines right next to a lake is a good idea Wrong. Build your base as far from water as possible. Then place your boilers and engines right in the center of your factory. Instead of using cheap power poles, run a long and expensive water pipeline across the map. It costs more, takes longer, and looks worse. As a bonus, it can double as a wall to keep bugs out. You do not need to cross it anyway. If you really want to commit, forget all logistics planning. Crisscross your belts until nothing makes sense. Create a spaghetti maze of confusion where items get stuck and throughput drops to zero. Efficiency is overrated.
