JAI don’t know who needs to hear this but if you’re getting braids done here are 3 key directions to give your braid lady for the sake of your edges:
1) Do NOT braid along your actual hair line. Pull the hair back a little, then begin the braid - zoom in, it’ll make sense 😂
2) Use as little hair as possible for each braid - tell her you want them to feel “light”. I like my braids to lay flat and not feel too heavy at all - despite the fact that I like them long long! In my opinion it also helps create a more seamless look (like knotless but not knotless).
3) Leave the little hairs around your hairline out - NOTHING feels worse than tugging on those little hairs EVERYTIME your change your facial expression, or move your hair. I’ve even had my front row redone the following day for this reason alone! Those bumps? Not it! Get her to re-do them.
Gone are the days of sitting in the chair with your mouth shut when you blatantly don’t like what’s being done to your hair 😅
Oh and you also get knotless looking braids for a fraction of the price 😜
