If you’re ever checking in on my stories, you’ll see these short timelapse videos as they’re recorded. The intention is always to piece them together as a reel but I often don’t find the time. Fortunately for the piece I finished last week, @clementineruby has done it for me. - Lots of people comment on the fact that they can’t (or don’t) believe that I paint on the ground… well, here’s the evidence in full. - Can I explain it? Not particularly… I’ve just always found it easier to immerse myself in the piece to get the best result. - Obviously I don’t do this when I work on canvas but these wood panels are sturdy so can take my weight without the threat of damage. - PS: my knees are fine… in case you were wondering 😊. - #findac #urbanaesthetics #urbanart #urbancontemporary #urbancontemporaryart #artonwood #artist #portrait #glitch @artworld.us @artistsuniversum @art_dailydose @art_viral

The Oberkampf wall was quite lumpy and bumpy so that definitely caused some issues with trying to attain smooth lines. For those that weren’t aware: my second reason for being in Paris recently was to finally get some art training… a mere 13 years after becoming a full time artist 😄. - Yep… I’ve been making it up as I go along all this time. Sue me 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. - I made it my goal a few years ago to expand my repertoire but oil painting is the one thing I couldn’t envisage just diving right into without prior knowledge as to how to do it all. - So I decided I’d spend a week, one on one, with teacher extraordinaire @yashinss on Île St Louis (an island in the middle of The Seine) in the heart of Paris learning how to paint with oils. - That meant painting a few hours a day and arranging the training around lots of other commitments like attending the @goldshteyn_saatort_gallery group show opening and the Paris Urban Art Fair. - ‘Saeloun’ is the end result of that weeks learning and I’m more than happy with the result… it was my very first attempt after all. - Now I just have to find time to practice more and do more online training I’d already booked with @terezabarnard a while ago. - The piece can currently be viewed in person at @goldshteyn_saatort_gallery in the 6th. - #findac #urbanaesthetics #urbanart #urbancontemporary #urbancontemporaryart #artist #portrait #oilpainting #oilpaintingoncanvas
