CAConditional sentences in English consist of an "if" clause (the condition) and a main clause (the result), and describe what could happen, what happens, or what could have happened. There are four main types: the Zero Conditional for facts and general truths, the First Conditional for probable future events, the Second Conditional for unlikely or hypothetical situations, and the Third Conditional for past hypothetical situations.

In a prior video, I discussed forming the zero conditional. This is used for generalities and rules, like what one would wear if it is snowing outside. It is not used to refer to specific scenarios.
But what about when we want to discuss a real possibility? When we want to speak about a specific future scenario, we can use the first conditional!
This is formed by: If + present simple, will + infinitive
For example:
* If don’t study for my exam tomorrow, I will fail.
* If it rains tonight, the soccer match will be cancelled
* If I win the lottery, I will buy a new car
These are all real possibilities, and refer to specific scenarios. Do you notice the notice between the first conditional and the zero conditional?

برای بیان حقایق عمومی و چیزهایی که همیشه درست هستن، استفاده میشه.
If+subject + verb ( present simple ) , subject + verb ( present simple )
first conditional :
برای پیش بینی اتفاقی که در آینده اتفاق می افته استفاده میشه.
If+subject + verb ( present simple ), subject + will/can + verb ( base form )
second conditional :
برای شرایط خیالی یا غیرواقعی استفاده میشه.
If+subject+verb ( past simple ) , subject + could / would + verb ( base form )
third conditional :
برای ابراز پشیمونی یا اتفاقی که در گذشته نیفتاده استفاده میشه.
If + subject + had + verb ( past participle ) , subject + would have + verb ( past participle )
mixed coditional :
وقتی دربارهی ارتباط بین دو زمان متفاوت ( گذشته و حال ) صحبت میکنیم. یعنی کاری در گذشته انجام نشده یا اشتباه انجام شده و نتیجه رو الان میبینیم.

👉 Zero: If it rains, you get wet.
👉 First: If it rains, you will get wet.
🤷 Which is correct?
It depends on the context.
👩🏫 The zero conditional is used to state facts. If it rains (generally speaking), you get wet. Even if you have an umbrella, your feet get wet. That’s a fact.
👩🏫 The first conditional is used to talk about the likely/possible future.
If it rains (later today), you will get wet.
So, in the first case, you’re stating a fact. You’re speaking in general. There’s no implication that it may rain later today.
In the second case, you’re referring to a specific future context. You say it because you believe it may happen.

YODo you know how to use mixed conditionals in English? If you’ve been learning English for a while, you’re probably already familiar with the four conditionals, but if you’d like to take your English a step further in order to reach a more advanced level, it’s a good idea to learn mixed conditionals as well, which are simply just combinations of the second and third conditionals.
If you’re familiar with the four conditionals, you know that each one is used to talk about a certain point in time. The zero and second conditionals talk about the present, the first conditional talks about the future, and the third conditional talks about the past. However, mixed conditionals use TWO points in time to express an idea, and in today’s video, I teach you one very common type of mixed conditional that native speakers actually use.
To make the type of mixed conditional that I talk about in today’s video, we have to know what the second and third conditionals are. Here’s a quick recap of them:
🔹Second conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that aren’t happening now in the PRESENT, and is made with the formula “If + past tense verb + would”:
If it were raining right now, I would be sad.
🔸Third conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that did NOT happen in the PAST, and is made with the formula “If + past perfect tense verb + would have”:
If he had come, he would have helped me.
To make a mixed conditional, we can combine the formulas of the second and third conditionals. Here’s one example:
🔹Past/present mixed conditional = used to say that, if something HAD BEEN different in the past, something WOULD be different now, and is made with the formula “If + past perfect tense verb + would”:
If I had learned French in high school, I would be fluent in it now.

JEIt’s really… conditional vs. unconditional.
I truly believe that conditional love is not love.
Now, that doesn’t mean the other person gets to do whatever they want with zero consequences. Actions have consequences. Always.
What it does mean is that YOU choose to love them for their flaws and their issues, and that although their actions may create an end in a relationship or may hurt you or may be destructive. You recognize that it is a reflection on them, and not yourself. You recognize their humanity and that you still want what’s best for their well-being.
No. This is not easy.
No. I am not perfect at this. Far from it.
Yes. I still feel hurt and pain from others and don’t want to “want what’s best for them” but I also know it dilutes and erodes my peace if I don’t.
I strive to offer unconditional love ALWAYS. Without judgement. I hope to realize it at the end of my lifetime… perhaps. God willing.
