I’m grateful for what I’ve learned from the broader personal finance community, but a lot of the big talking heads reek of YT privilege. The finance bros- I’m all too familiar with them from my investment management career. My heart is full. ❤️ Those of you who have read First Gen know that the book opens with my experience in 2016 at a college graduation. Watching the students and hoping that the picture I was painting of the future could be more nuanced, complete…honest. Out of respect. For who they were, for what they had been though, and for where they were going. To hear those same thoughts - that eventually became my book - read out loud from the podium at the Dallas College Commencement by Student Speaker Aranza Ortega Vargas, is a testament to anyone who has ever felt isolated or alone in their struggle. As Aranza so wisely said, know that you are right where you belong. @aranzyyy , what an inspiring woman you are. This is just the beginning. 👏🏼 @dallascollegetx
