Hi, I’m Collin. I need to tell you about the moment my life changed. March 2023. One phone call. EPO suspension. My career as a professional triathlete—over. My identity—shattered. I thought losing my career would be the hardest part. It wasn’t. The hardest part was waking up every single day with this crushing sense of dread. My nervous system was stuck. Frozen. I couldn’t see past each day. I had no hope. No light. I was just surviving. I got on a bike. California to Colombia. Five and a half months. Alone. And somewhere in that journey, I found breathwork. I didn’t know what I was looking for. But I found it. The first time I did a breathwork session, something shifted. Not in my mind. In my body. In my nervous system. It wasn’t something I could think my way through. It wasn’t something therapy could touch. It was deeper. Physiological. When I reset my nervous system through breathwork, my body finally felt safe again. And when my body felt safe, everything changed. I went from surviving to thriving. From dread to hope. From frozen to free. I got back the joy of living. Now I teach breathwork. To armed forces. Police departments. Wellness retreats. Athletes. In saunas. On mats. In crisis and in celebration. Because breath is the one thing that connects your mind to your body. And when you learn to use it, everything changes. This photo is my largest class yet. 75 people. After @kiana’s workout, we did 15 minutes of box breathing and exhale humming to release nitric oxide, then dropped into Shavasana for meditation. Seventy-five nervous systems. Grounded. Connected. Present. That’s the power of breath. If you’re stuck. If you’re surviving instead of thriving. If your nervous system is screaming and you don’t know how to calm it—start with your breath. [I believe in sleep and what it can do] It can’t always be perfect and that’s ok. I find myself sometimes comparing my training to others but then have to remember my journey looks sooooo different as a mom of three than other people’s and that is also ok 👌 We just adapt (like go to bed super early so you are still in bed for 8-9 hrs even if you wake up a million times). Adjust. And take it one day at a time (and utilize caffeine to the fullest) Also I think I’m just used to it by now I’d probably send my body into shock if I got a full nights sleep 😂 I guess moral of the story ⬇️ 1. don’t compare to others journey yours is your own 2. Sleep is good don’t believe that I wouldn’t take the sleep if I could 3. Sometimes you have to keep doing even when it’s not perfect. #whereyourfeettakeyou #triathlonmotivation #triathloncoach #triathlonlife

Turns out that’s not the case and the rest is actually helping me recover so I can go harder in future sessions. Our minds can be a funny place sometimes so it’s important to hear these reminders. I am guilty. I spent years comparing myself to World champions and Olympic champions. I stole their training plans and workouts. I pushed myself beyond my limits daily. Injured always, sick, and chronically tired. I turned to drugs. Your story doesn’t have to end like mine did. I spent years rebuilding by nervous system working with the best coaches from around the world who specially designed workouts for me and my current capacities. This made all the difference.
