HIWhat you see is called a ,,wand”. It is the height control system on the Moth and few other foiling boats. As it skims the water surface, it moves a rod connected to the flap on the main hydrofoil. When the boat rises too high, the wand lifts and reduces the flap angle, which reduces lift. When the boat drops closer to the water, the wand pushes down and increases the flap angle, creating more lift. This constant feedback keeps the boat flying at a stable height while foiling.
