SAWhat you see a lot on both forehand and backhand but especially on the (two-handed) backhand is players —> either they don’t take that first step with the outside (left) leg, they don’t stop on the outside leg, or they don’t take enough steps to get into the right distance from the ball 🎾.
Because of that, they end up taking a big cross-step with the inside leg (in my case, the right leg), which puts them in a stuck and overly closed position 🚫 and makes recovery much slower ⏳.
The fix is simple:
Use your outside leg to make the first step and to land and stop on before you hit ✔️. Then step forward, not sideways, making sure your hips can follow the swing and turn toward your target 🎯
The proper body transfer through the ball will help generate more power 💥.

Step 1: The Grip
Right hand: continental ✅
Left hand: thumb down ⬇️(easier to remember than a name)✅
Step 2: Racket Face
A 🔑 difference between forehand and backhand during the backswing:
Strings down on the forehand ✅
Strings down on the backhand ❌
On your two handed backhand, aim for a more neutral racket face when preparing. This will give you a much cleaner contact and create more effortless depth in your shot. Its ok to have a backhand that is flatter than your forehand. You can add more spin as you progress, but trying to hit with a lot of spin in the beginning will result in terrible short, weak backhands
