I use it to capture the core of the ceremony, speeches, and key moments throughout the day. It stays locked off on a tripod or handheld, giving me sharp, clean, and consistent coverage with built-in NDs and beautiful image quality. B-Cam (Secondary Angle): Sony FX3 + 70-200mm — This camera lives on a tripod or handheld nearby, grabbing tight emotional reactions, alternate angles, and punch-ins. It gives me options in the edit and helps keep the story dynamic. C-Cam (Gimbal Cam): Sony FX3 + 35mm G Master — My cinematic mover. Perfect for establishing shots, venue details, movement during bride & groom portraits, and smooth motion shots during the first look or couple session. Most people won’t tell you this… But the FX6 isn’t going to change your career. Here’s what actually will ⤵️ Put the money into lights, audio, lenses, tripods, stands—and a small but mighty camera. That combo will take you further, faster. You’ll look more pro (Admittedly the FX6 makes you look cooler…) You’ll sound more pro (Because you have sound equipment, because you didn’t blow the budget on a 6k camera body!). You’ll deliver better (Quicker jobs, quicker learning curve, quicker development) And you won’t go broke trying to “look” the part. 😅 I get it though. It feels like the big camera is your golden ticket. Like you’ll finally get those clients, the respect, the bigger jobs. But that’s the influencer illusion. They’re paid to make you feel like you need the upgrade. Truth? You don’t. Grow with what you’ve got. Stretch the gear you have. Learn to use it well. The demand comes when you deliver great work—not when you flash expensive kit. What’s been your best investment so far? I bought this camera off Amazon for $51 AUD which is something like $33 USD. My Sony FX6 as is if purchased new with the 35mm F1.4 GM lens, Tilta cage, v-mount battery and type A card puts this at around $12000 AUD or around $8000 USD. I get some serious dad can vibes from this cheap handy cam and it actually would suit the vibe if that is what I am after. It does 1080p video at 15fps snd 720p at 30fps. Mind you the frame rate doesn’t stay consistent from what I see in premiere pro. All the clips have slightly varying frame rates 😂 Needless to say don’t spend money on this handy cam but you certainly don’t need to spend too dollar on the FX6 to get great video. I have the FX6 for all my corporate work, commercials, freelancing gigs and other projects.
