MAThe second cover I made is "Love is Temptation" by Yang Soo Kyung from her 1992 album Asian Dream. I love this song, it's super catchy from the start with its Latin inspired synth line that leads into the powerful melodic chorus. There's just so many great melodies in this track, and I love the production of it too! I thought the song really lend itself well for a more alternative rock vibe, so that the direction I took it in.
안녕하세요, 두 번째 커버 곡은 양수경 님의 1992년 앨범 'Asian Dream'에 수록된 ‘사랑은 차가운 유혹'입니다. 도입부의 라틴 풍 신스 라인부터 귀를 사로잡는 정말 매력적인 곡이죠. 특히 시원하게 터지는 후렴구의 멜로디가 정말 파워풀해서 개인적으로 참 좋아하는 곡이에요. 원곡의 멜로디와 구성이 워낙 훌륭해서, 이번에는 조금 더 강렬한 '얼터너티브 락' 무드로 재해석해 보았습니다 🎸
Under my last post many people asked how a foreigner could know such an old song from South-Korea. I visit the country almost every year and I often hear songs in cafes, bars, or on the radio. When a song catches my ear, I like to explore the artist further and dive into their catalog on YouTube or Spotify. I try to check out every song that I can find and that's how I find some pretty unknown gems. Over time, I gathered big collection of songs that really resonate with me.
지난 게시물에서 많은 분이 "외국인이 어떻게 이런 한국의 옛날 노래를 잘 아느냐"고 신기해하며 물어봐 주셨는데요. 저는 거의 매년 한국을 방문하고 있어요. 그때마다 카페나 길거리, 혹은 라디오에서 들려오는 노래들에 늘 귀를 기울이곤 합니다.
그러다 마음에 쏙 드는 곡을 발견하면, 유튜브나 스포티파이에서 그 가수의 모든 앨범을 찾아보며 깊게 파고드는 걸 좋아해요. 그렇게 하나하나 찾아 듣다 보니 잘 알려지지 않은 보석 같은 명곡들을 정말 많이 알게 되었고, 어느새 제 마음을 울리는 곡들을 많이 모을 수 있게 되었습니다 😊
