Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke is a New Zealand politician and a member of Te Pāti Māori. She became the Member of Parliament for Hauraki-Waikato in the 2023 general election, making her one of the youngest MPs in New Zealand’s history. She unseated long-serving MP Nanaia Mahuta to win the seat.
Maipi-Clarke comes from a strong Māori activist background and has whakapapa from Waikato, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Porou, Te Āti Awa, and Ngāi Tahu. Her family has been deeply involved in Māori rights and cultural advocacy, and her grandfather, Taitimu Maipi, was an activist. Her father, Potaka Maipi, is a well-known broadcaster, and her grand-aunt, Hana Te Hemara, was a Māori language advocate.
Before entering politics, she attended Te Wharekura o Rākaumangamanga in Huntly. She has been actively involved in Māori language and cultural preservation, and she published a book on maramataka (the Māori lunar calendar). She has also provided training on maramataka, including to the New Zealand Warriors rugby players.
Since becoming an MP, Maipi-Clarke has focused on advocating for Māori rights, youth engagement, environmental issues, and the promotion of Māori culture. She gained attention in 2024 after performing a haka in Parliament in protest against the controversial Treaty Principles Bill. Maipi-Clarke is part of a new generation of Māori leaders and is known for her outspoken and passionate approach to policy, particularly regarding Indigenous rights.#

El gobierno de Trump corrió al mercenario Greg Bovino luego de la bronca que estalló en el país y el mundo, y lo reemplazó con el 'zar de las fronteras' Tom Homan.
Pero no alcanza: la proporción de la persecución a migrantes no tiene antecedentes recientes.El número de deportados asciende a 600mil mientras que la cantidad de "auto"deportados ronda los 2 millones. El tratamiento es horroroso: la detención de niñas/os, allanamientos ilegales, cacerías represivas que han dejado un saldo de heridos de gravedad y 2 muertos.
Los centros de concentración para la deportación y la represión recuerdan capítulos terribles del siglo XX y las comparaciones con los nazis abundan, salvando las distancias.
Igual de novedosa es la profundidad de la respuesta por la solidaridad, organización y lucha que se ha desatado. Trump parece que no se lo esperaba: cree que puede actuar sobre los Estados como si fueran sus propiedades inmobiliarias. ¡Pero no!
Minnesota fue escenario de numerosas luchas a lo largo de su historia, como la de justicia por George Floyd. Hoy es el centro político de las huelgas y de un sofisticado sistema de organización de voluntarias/os que realizan guardias en puntos estratégicos de los barrios en plena ola polar: un sistema de silbatos y el uso de aplicaciones como Signal para dar alertas, persiguen a las patrullas del ICE y dictan clases de protocolo para casos de detenciones arbitrarias. Así lograron frenar de manera contundente la actuación del ICE y obligaron a Trump a retroceder.
Es el ejemplo a seguir: demuestra que a la extrema derecha, incluso al monstruo de Trump, lo podemos enfrentar. Argentina también puede ser escenario de este tipo de luchas: sigamos su camino para enfrentar la reforma laboral que pretende imponer el gobierno de Milei. Que no te digan que no se puede luchar y que la reforma laboral ya pasó.
¡Fuera el ICE de Trump!

Great drawings are built general to specific.
Start with the big shapes first. In this drawing it begins with the large silhouette of the volcano and the major cloud masses from the eruption.
Once the big forms are in place, you start finding the smaller shapes inside them. Then smaller ones inside those.
It’s like adding resolution to an image.
The scene slowly comes into focus as you refine it.
Mountains become planes.
Clouds become volumes.
Textures and details come last.
If you jump straight into small details before establishing the large structure, the drawing will almost always fall apart.
That’s exactly what the Drawing Drills trains:
• Seeing and constructing large forms first
• Breaking complex scenes into simple shapes
• Building drawings step by step from structure to detail
