As a senior I am definitely feeling this big time, so I’ve had to be strategic when approaching my assignments. Below are some of my favorite tips ⬇️ Leave the sanctuary, get out of your room, and go to a productive environment 📚 (Personally I love the quiet study area in the library because no one bothers you and everyone else is productive so that basically forces you to be)👀 2. Put that gosh darn phone away 📵 (Ironic since I had mine out I know, but seriously, it’s causing more harm than good. Get rid of the distraction. THIS GOES FOR TXTING ON A MAC TOO, STOP IT) 🛑 3. Halve your tasks/stressors by writing them down ✍️ (I like to write little sticky notes throughout the day of tasks I intend to get done. I swear it’ll motivate you to want to cross things off the list. How To Stick To Your Habits Without Relying On Discipline 📓✨ For the longest time I thought I just “lacked discipline.” But most habit systems fail for one simple reason: They track outcomes. They don’t train behavior. A dopamine diary is different. It is not a streak tracker. It is not a perfection chart. It is not a “don’t break the chain” system. It is a weekly habit scoreboard built around how habits actually stick. Here is what most habit trackers get wrong: What normal habit trackers do • focus on big outcomes instead of tiny starting actions • rely on streak pressure to keep you consistent • make you feel behind the moment you miss a day • assume motivation will show up before action That is why they work… for about a week. Here is what a dopamine diary does differently 🌿 • uses the 2-minute rule so every habit is easy to start • rewards completion immediately with a visible mark • tracks participation, not perfection • resets weekly so you never carry guilt forward James Clear says: “A habit must be established before it can be improved.” That is the key. Instead of writing “go to the gym,” you write “put on workout clothes.” Instead of “read 30 minutes,” you write “read one page.” Because the brain does not resist tiny starts. My 3 non-negotiables ⬇️ I post a lot about studying, my business, and other productivity things, and so many people have asked how I’m able to get so much done. How do I stay focused? How do you achieve so much? How do you never get distracted? The truth is… I’m no different to you. I used to procrastinate, get distracted, stress out over work. This is completely normal and you aren’t alone in facing these things. However, over the years, I’ve discovered a handful of ways to keep myself on task, and have a clear system to use every day, centred around 3 non-negotiables: 1️⃣ Exercise every single morning Usually I go to the gym, sometimes I run… either way I try to get my heart rate up in some way as this wakes me up and gives me so much energy for the day. 2️⃣ No social media before 12pm This is a big one that I’ve only started recently. I know just how much of an impact scrolling has on my energy and focus, so I save it until I’ve gotten my highest priority work done for the day. 3️⃣ Get ready every day Get dressed. Brush my teeth. Do skincare. If I don’t do these things, my mind assumes today is a rest day and I know I won’t get anything meaningful done.
