What’s the difference between platinum+ and chronos - this is a question I get asked a fair amount of times so here’s my breakdown 👇🏼 The differences: • Platinum+ features ultra-zone technology whereas Chronos features new HD motion responsive technology • Platinum+ has high gloss coated plates whereas Chronos has ultra gloss coated plates • Platinum+ goes into sleep mode after 30 minutes of no use whereas Chronos sleep mode kicks in after just 10 minutes of no use • Chronos was designed to be even better than Platinum+ so you can style a bit faster and the results last even longer • I notice the curls are more defined with Chronos and it gives a touch more shine • There is a light up ring by the hinge of Chronos, whereas there are no external lights on Platinum+ (this does not affect performance, this is purely aesthetic) The similarities: • Same size plates • Both are smart stylers, meaning they can predict the hair’s needs and your styling habits (e.g. they adapt if your styling very quickly with more power, they can tell if you’re taking a really large section or if the hair is particularly thick) • They will both only ever go up to 185°C/365°F (best temperature for heat styling without causing damage) • They both come in a choice of white or black (and also there will be limited edition colours of each at certain times of the year) Platinum+ was my go-to straightener before the Chronos came out, now I find I will opt for Chronos as I know it’s slightly better. However I still love & use Platinum+, still going back to it Which one to pick? If you have the budget and you love to have the top of the range product, knowing it’s the best and gives literally the best results then go for Chronos And sometimes it just comes down to price - If you can’t justify a £289/$349 Chronos price tag for your flat iron but you’re willing to spend £239/$289 for the Platinum+ then I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed and you’ll love your Platinum+ (as I say it was my favourite for years before the Chronos recently came out) I hope this helps you decide between the 2! #hairtips #hairstylist #hairstraightener #ghd #chloeswiftstylist
