I’ve been on a lot of adventure days out over the years and trust me when I say @gobelow has gotta be up there with one of the best & most unique adventure days out the UK has to offer. You’re gonna wanna add this to your adventure bucket list! 🧨 Usually I like to spend my time on the mountain, but last week, I was invited to spend the day underneath one. @gobelow is set in one of the largest abandoned slate mines in the world, set underneath the mountains of Snowdonia, and takes you on an adrenaline-filled journey deep into the earth, as you cross ancient bridges and tackle Via Ferratas and ziplines to reach the deepest accessible point 1,375 vertical feet underground. This is also known as Deep Sleep, the world’s deepest underground accommodation - how insanely cool is that?! 🤯 We had an epic day exploring underground, testing our nerve on the various activities & learning about the history of the mines and the miners who would have taken the descent into the darkness every single day. A truly unique adventure and one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon! Invited by *@domestosuki to celebrate their new product **Power Foam we ventured to @gobelow in Wales to experience their 'Deep Sleep' 😴  a small suite of overnight accommodation units built 1,375 feet BELOW ground level, at the bottom of the world's largest and deepest abandoned slate mine. These accommodation units are by far the deepest ever built anywhere on Earth 🌍 But to get there you first have to take on a few challenges 🧗 For us, that meant doing the Leap of Faith, an 80ft jump into a black hole, followed by lots of climbing, wading through tunnels of water, absailing, zip lines and crossing balance beams 🎉 If you're a bit of an adrenaline junkie like me then you'd love it 🤣 After a good few hours of fun, we arrived at our accommodation for the night 🛌 1375ft BELOW ground, as well as the hardest to reach toilet - needless to say after all the adventure a few people where definitely in need 😆💩 ..... *Use biocides safely. The moment when you realise you just hit the Jack Pot!!! During @bottomlineprojects flag expedition #2 while scouting new flooded cave systems in Laos we came across a restriction that has always been submerged until now due the extreme dry season. We swam through it and found a completely new section of the system from the other side of the sump. Following the hundreds of thousands of years old tunnel knowing that you are the first ever human witnessing this section inside the 300 million year old karst mountain was one thing. But discovering a terminal chamber with a massive, crystal clear sink in the end of the tunnel was just spectacular! Obviously we jumped in and freedived to see if the cave continues under water.. and to our joy it did. There was no bottom in sight but just a giant mega power tunnel storming into the lime stone mountain. We will be back with our Sidewinders to survey and explore this hidden treasure in the next episode. To make things even more appealing, this underwater system is part of a larger dry system that has over 20 kilometres of mapped tunnels.
