SOthe timing of this was almost comical
i poured my heart into this startup for the last 9 months and had just accepted a leadership role about a month before this news. definitely not the plot twist i saw coming.
candidly… this second time i’ve ever been laid off from a job.
the first time was when i was 22. i had just moved to san diego & took a job stocking milk in the back of a grocery store to pay the bills.
after a week of training me, my manager pulled me aside, handed me a paycheck, and very lovingly told me he could tell i hated stocking milk lol and that he i was meant to follow my heart and find something in alignment not just something that pays bills.
not long after, i turned around and fulfilled my dream of becoming a career firefighter
and now this!
the only reason this moment exists on video is because i had just finished recording a zoom sales call for training and closed the deal right before answering this call with my chief of ops
incredible timing.
honestly, i’m at peace about it. sometimes the universe makes the decision for you and clears the path when it’s time to move on.
