This is where many first-time exporters make mistakes.
• Open a current account enabled for international transactions.
• Ensure your bank supports foreign inward remittances.
• Obtain your AD Code (Authorized Dealer Code) from your bank.
• Register your AD Code on ICEGATE (Indian Customs Electronic Gateway).
ICEGATE links your shipments with your bank for foreign currency realization.
Without proper AD Code registration, your shipment will face delays at customs.

3️⃣ Participate in the right export exhibitions
Choose government-recognized or product-specific export exhibitions.
This is how you:
• Meet genuine international buyers
• Understand pricing and compliance expectations
• Position your brand globally
But don’t just collect visiting cards.
Be intentional:
• Carry proper samples.
• Give them your visiting card.
• Send them your introductory email immediately — preferably the same day.
• Keep your introductory email already prepared before attending.
• Maintain proper records of visiting cards and conversations.
• Start follow-ups from that very day.
• Be extremely quick in replying to emails and queries.
Speed builds trust in exports.
