ANWhy did ancient granaries rarely catch fire despite being filled with highly flammable grain? Grain dust is explosive—a single spark can cause devastating explosions that destroy entire warehouses. Ancient granaries stored thousands of tons of wheat and barley with oil lamps and torches nearby. Fire should have been inevitable. But ancient builders designed granaries to prevent the conditions that cause grain fires. They built thick stone walls and created constant airflow using vents at the bottom and top of walls. Moving air prevented grain dust from accumulating to dangerous levels. Grain dust only explodes at specific concentrations in still air—ventilation kept dust below the combustion threshold. They had strict safety rules: no open flames inside, torches stayed outside, and workers used covered oil lamps. Grain was stored in separated sections so fire couldn’t spread. Archaeological evidence shows ancient granary sites with sophisticated ventilation systems. Ancient builders prevented grain dust accumulation rather than fighting fires after they started.

They are in the “healthy snacks” aisle of the grocery store, and with a name like “Nutri-grain” they sure sounds healthy…
But a quick glance at the ingredients will reveal the truth… 🤦🏼♂️
They contain seed oils, like soybean oil, which are horrible for humans…
And contribute to obesity, hunger, weight gain, and eventually to insulin resistance and diabetes…
Furthermore, in tricky fashion, they’ve separated the ingredients of the filling, from the crust, and put the former after the latter…🤔
Likely to hide the fact that the majority of the ingredients of the filling are processed sugars…
Invert sugar, which is hydrolyzed sucrose (meant to be sweeter than regular sugar) and corn syrup, a syrup made from corn starch and related to high fructose corn syrup…
Likely irritating to the gut and a potential cause of inflammation if corn starch molecules make it into the bloodstream.. 👎
No bueno…
Don’t be fooled by products in the “healthy” section of a grocery store or names like “Nutri-grain,” the vast majority of these things are NOT healthy and have no place in a human diet…🤡🌎
