**Why Functional Programming NEVER Take Off 🚀** While **functional programming (FP)** has some amazing advantages, it’s not likely to dominate the tech world anytime soon. Here’s why: 1️⃣ **Steep Learning Curve** FP concepts (like immutability & recursion) can be tough for beginners. It requires a shift in mindset! 2️⃣ **Limited Ecosystem & Libraries** FP has fewer libraries and frameworks, especially in mainstream languages like JavaScript. 3️⃣ **Performance Concerns** Recursion and immutability can lead to inefficiencies, especially in large-scale apps. 4️⃣ **Integration with Legacy Code** It’s tough to integrate FP with existing object-oriented systems without a complete rewrite. 5️⃣ **Real-World Fit** Many apps (especially stateful ones) are easier to model with imperative or object-oriented programming. 6️⃣ **Cultural Resistance** Developers and businesses are often hesitant to switch to new paradigms, especially when the benefits aren’t immediately obvious. While **FP** shines in certain areas (like concurrent programming and data science), it’s unlikely to replace **OOP** or **imperative programming** in the broader industry anytime soon. But hey, it’s still a powerful tool to have in your dev toolbox! 💻🔧 #FunctionalProgramming #ProgrammingParadigms #Tech #SoftwareDevelopment #LearnToCode #DeveloperLife #CodingCommunity #TechTalk

From Random to Structured Most people train hard… But still don’t see the results they expect. Not because they’re lazy — But because they’re following random approaches with no structure. 🎯 This is where everything changes. In this reel, you’ll understand the real system behind progress — how to build a structured approach instead of guessing. 🔥 Key takeaways: • Why random planning leads to inconsistent results • How structured layering improves outcomes • The importance of stability over extremes • Why more is NOT always better • How advanced setups are built step-by-step The truth is simple: If your plan has no logic… it won’t give consistent results. 📌 Once you understand how to structure things properly, you stop wasting time and start progressing with clarity. 📌 COMMENT “Guide” & FOLLOW @mentally_jacked TO RECEIVE YOUR EXCLUSIVE GUIDE STRAIGHT TO YOUR DM! 🚀📩 ⚠️ DISCLAIMER This content is created strictly for educational and informational purposes only. Day 2 of the @fp.certified Human Foundations Course being held @fp.santamonica Being a @functionalpatterns @projectfunction practitioner has to be one of the best jobs on the planet. Being able to watch someone transform their movement right before your eyes really is something special. It’s funny because when I run these courses, the entire time from start to finish to a few days after, I can’t get these students of mine out of my head. Each and every single one of them, which I know by name already but more so by their biomechanical predispositions, pop up into my head as I rack my brain for ways to best guide them during the course. When I teach it’s really hard to focus on anything outside of making sure these people are successful after this course ends and they go home to tackle their movement dilemmas. But I can’t help but see all the potential each and every one of these humans have inside waiting to be triggered by the right stimuli. I will have prepared them as best as I could for HBS 1 and beyond but more importantly a long life of problem solving if they can get out of their own way and follow through on what I have told them to study and do. We have one more day to go. Let’s get to work. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #projectfunction #biomechanics #functionaltraining #fpcertified #personaltrainer #humanfoundations

🏋🏻‍♀️ACSM Resistance Training Guidelines Overall, big fan @acsm1954 Thank you @mackinprof and all the others who worked on the guidelines and shout out to @dr.susie.squats for a terrific infographic Things to focus on 👇🏻 ✅ Consistency/adherence/enjoyment ✅ Close to failure ✅ ≥2x/wk workouts ✅ Progressive overload Don’t worry so much about 👇🏻 ⚠️ Periodization ⚠️ Specific rep ranges ⚠️ Set structures ⚠️ Special equipment ⚠️ Needing the “perfect” program ⚠️ Going to ABSOLUTE failure It’s not that these aren’t ever relevant but as a guide, I wouldn’t worry about them so much PS, I’d add that while training to 0RIR/failure isn’t required for basically anything… It’s still something you should experience at some points in your training (imo, safely) to help calibrate effort to better know when you’re “close” to failure. -JL

Hall Effect Thruster Day 5: Magnetic Shunts! In this video, I talk about the use of magnetic shunts to create a radial magnetic field in Hall Effect Thrusters. These videos are made through the textbooks and papers I’ve read, and are based on my interpretation of definitions regarding magnetic shunts, which is why I wanted to discuss this topic further in the description: Based on the definition that magnetic shunts are typically high-permeability, ferromagnetic material used to redirect, or adjust the magnetic flux in a circuit, it can be seen how the metal plates at the top of the hall thruster redirect the magnetic fields to go radially inwards. This is done by having the polarity of the outer magnets opposite that of the one inside. Furthermore, since there are more magnetic sources on the outside ring, and just at the center of the thruster, the number of coils needs to be higher at the center in order to balance the magnitude of the B-Fields from the outside. Thus, this step necessitates computer modeling, which will be done using COMSOL Multiphysics. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with COMSOL; I am simply using it because I read about its use in magnetic simulations. Electromagnet Diagram Designed by ‪@freepik I hope you all learned something new from this video. I look forward to hearing from you for any tips or ways I can improve. As always, thank you so much for your continued support and for giving me the motivation to keep posting! See you for Day 6! #anshattempts #halleffectthruster #physics #engineering #day5

“Consistent hashing minimizes key redistribution during scaling, ensuring stable routing and preventing cache stampedes.” ✅ Why we need Consistent Hashing • Keys are placed on a hash ring • Servers are also placed on the same ring • A key moves only when its server changes Add/remove 1 server → ~1/N keys move What problems it solves ✔ Cache stampede ✔ Thundering herd ✔ Hot partitions ✔ Expensive rebalancing ✔ Unstable routing 🧠 Real-world usage • Distributed caches (Redis, Memcached) • Microservice routing • DB sharding • Message consumers • CDN edge routing Follow @dhruvtechbytes #codinglife #systemdesign #engineers #developers #softwareengineering [coding,SDE, system design, Tech, faang, developers, software engineer, coders, java]
