EMSo I’ve wanted to do this one for a while now.
In my head cannon, Sarah visits her friends in the underground, mainly Hoggle. Avoiding Jareth for the most part, she still explores the labyrinth and has adventures with her friends.
Even though she recognizes she has some growing up to do, I don’t think she’s still mature enough to leave her favorite fantasy world right away. Let alone leave the friends she’s made in it.
Overtime though, her visits do become less and less frequent. Hoggle notices this trend and although his age process is little to none, he sees that Sarah has grown immensely. Realizing how little he sees her now, he understands that she has no need for him or the Labyrinth anymore.
To Sarah, Hoggle was a friend in her youth, to him she was his whole awakening to a new beginning. And now he must start over again without her.
