SAMore directions/tips below👇🏽✂️
1.) Set up their favorite show lower so their head is angled down. Sometimes I’ll set my laptop on the ground to get get neckline
2.) I did 2 as the base, 2.5-3 as the middle, and scissors (spilt in 3 sections) for the top hair! Sometimes I go back and do a 3.5/4 to blend the middle and top if there’s a harsh line. No guard/zero for neckline/ears.
3.) If your toddler is new to haircuts, get him used to the noise by letting him look at the clippers on and move them around his ears to show him it’s just a little buzz! The clippers I use are affordable but about a medium noise level. There’s more quiet ones if it’s something that really bother them. Usually my toddler’s favorite show and a lollipop is all he needs to sit still for 20ish minutes!
4.) You’ll get better with practice! Trust me. I once forgot to add the guard back on and give him a temporary bald spot😂 They’re so young now that it doesn’t really matter if you mess up. In about 3 weeks or so, it grows back and ready for you to try again!

Just kidding, but seriously we love home haircuts. We’ve done this in the past before and we’ve had seasons where we go to the barber shop. But we’ve realized that not only is it something we can save money on, it’s precious father and son moments 💙 love all my boys!

You can try ALLL the distractions but it still takes longer than they can sit for.
So this is what I do, and it works EVERY SINGLE TIME.

After 12+ years behind the chair and 3 boys of my own, I’ve learned that the secret isn’t better distractions — it’s a completely different method.
Here’s the secret 👇
Just trim it! ✂️
This is how: Step 1
Learn how to cut it yourself- both the real deal- full haircut- AND just the cleanup around the edges, off the ears, neck & out of the eyes so that it doesn’t look like a bowl cut or like they’ve beg given 90s bangs with that horrible, heavy weight lines😬🫣
✅ This buys you a few more weeks until you do the full haircut (which only takes 15 minutes… TOPS.
That way, there’s no forcing. No trauma. Sanity of mom still in tact ☺️

No one is a pro right away, but with deep breaths and practice I know you can do it!
(The best thing about mens cut is if they don’t like it, wear a hat! Then you can try again in two weeks)

THRandom but highly requested video of how I cut my son’s hair! I was never that comfy using clippers so I just do shears all the way around- the best thing you can do is get them super distracted with a show and just practice holding the hair tightly between your pointer and middle finger (I show ya in the video) worst thing that happens is you take them to a place for a fix -actually worst is that you cut their ear but I’ve done that to paying customers before so it’s an associated risk either way. REHaircut day for all the boys today.
(This feels like an all day project) 🤣
They get to choose the length they want it.
I've been cutting their hair since my oldest was about 2 so I have learned a thing or 2 from them.
These Clippers though 😍 they have been wonderful for cutting their hair.
My oldest has the absolute thickest hair I have ever seen and these just glide right on through making it easier to cut.
