Does your puppy get hyperactive or even aggressive? 💁🏼‍♀️ Puppies often get hyper and aggressive if they don’t have a structured sleep schedule! 💡 Dogs rest a lot overall, but puppies especially need sleep as they are growing at an extensive rate. 🏠 I recommend crate training puppies, but you can also gate off a room so they can get the uninterrupted sleep they need. ⏰ Puppy should be going to sleep around 7:00pm-8:00pm, getting up around 6:30am-7:00am and taking naps around 9:00am and 1:00pm. 🤯 You’ll be surprised that a lot puppy aggression and hyperactivity simply goes away when they get the right amount of sleep! Got a hyperactive dog? Don’t worry! Training is possible. In fact, some of the most energetic dogs become the most obedient once they learn structure and focus. The key isn’t trying to “burn out” energy, it’s guiding it with clear commands and consistent practice. Here’s my approach: 1️⃣ Use clear commands your dog can easily follow 2️⃣ Reward calm, focused choices — not frantic energy 3️⃣ Build short, structured sessions to prevent overload 4️⃣ Stay consistent and confident so your dog mirrors your calmness With these steps, you can turn chaos into control and help even the wildest dogs learn to listen. 🐶 Does your dog struggle with hyper energy? The hilarious contrast between two types of dogs living under the same roof — the calm collected zen master versus the absolute chaos gremlin with unlimited energy. One dog sits peacefully observing life with mature wisdom, while the other bounces off walls, zooms through rooms, and treats every moment like a personal rave. The side-by-side differences, the exhausted sighs from the calm one, the nonstop movement from the energetic maniac — every interaction showcases opposite ends of the canine personality spectrum. Inside this "two types of dogs" comedy showcase: • The calm dog maintaining dignity while the chaotic one circles them at lightning speed • Patient tolerant stares versus wild-eyed hyperactive expressions that scream pure adrenaline • Gentle tail wags contrasted with helicopter tail spinning that could generate electricity • The collected dog napping peacefully while the energetic one discovers their hundredth toy • Slow methodical walks next to frantic zigzag sprinting and random direction changes • Measured responses versus over-the-top reactions to doorbells, treats, squirrels, and literally everything Why you'll watch on repeat: the dynamic between polar opposite personalities creates endless entertainment. Some clips show the calm dog's growing annoyance, others capture rare moments when roles reverse temporarily. Rewatching reveals subtle comedy: the calm dog's eye rolls, the exact moment patience runs thin, the energetic dog's failed attempts at engaging their chill sibling, brief pauses where the crazy one considers being calm before immediately abandoning that idea. Share the moment: Double-tap if you live with this exact personality combo and recognize the struggle. Tag someone whose dogs are opposite ends of the energy spectrum. Comment which dog represents your pet — the zen philosopher or the caffeinated tornado? Follow for daily dog personality content, sibling dynamics, relatable multi-dog humor, and behavioral comedy gold. Ultimate takeaway: opposite energies, perfect comedy balance, relatable chaos. Because households with calm and crazy dogs together create natural sitcoms — proving variety truly makes life better.

Border Collies often get labeled as hyperactive or psychotic. But at their core, a true Border Collie works calmly, quietly, and thoughtfully. They’re bred to think on the move - to approach every task with precision, using the power of their presence and their intense “eye” to control livestock effortlessly. If you've ever felt misunderstood alongside your dog, you're not alone. Sometimes it's simply about finding what fulfills them. For us, that was BTF herding games 🩷🐑⚽

‼️Pups & adolescent dogs will often freeze for a moment in excitement during play & adult dogs will also use freezing as part of playing with friends. Which is fine - BUT it's not an appropriate way to approach a strange dog (difference between play & meeting strangers) . ‼️ Eg. while it's normal to play football with your friends, it would be super weird & very antisocial to randomly tackle a passing stranger. . ‼️Hard staring, stalking, freezing, & charging are all part of the predatory sequence in dogs. And ALL dogs are predators. In some dogs those behaviours have been amplified by selective breeding to create different working breeds. So some breeds are more likely to do it. . ‼️BUT dogs don't understand selective breeding - to them it just looks predatory when a strange dog acts that way. And when a stranger acts like a predator towards you, it's wise to be careful if you don't want to get attacked. . ‼️While this dog just had poor social skills & was a bit excited, I hope you can see why I recommend teaching your dogs NOT to behave this way with strange dogs. Once the other dog is on the defensive, chances are any meeting won't go well. . ‼️Worst case, you encounter a dog who thinks the best defence is a good offence - & they'll attack your dog preemptively. So while you & your dog think you're just playing/excited, what your dog is *actually* conveying is an intention to attack. Be careful what message your dog is sending! . 🔍 Go back & watch the start of the reel & compare Finn's relaxed posture & face with the first 3 dogs to how he looks at the end of the reel. Fourth dog caused a lot of stress! Note also how early the 4th dog froze in response to Finn. An encounter (& communication) can start as soon as dogs are in sight. Dogs & humans have different concepts of space & boundaries. . . . . . . . . . #dogbodylanguage #dogbehaviour #dogcommunication #offleashdogs #dogpark #redheeler #australiancattledog #cattledog #heeler #dogsocialisation #dogaggression #dogfreezing #hardstaring #predatorysequence

Can Play Be Taken Too Far? Understanding Healthy Play for Dogs 🐾 Playtime is vital for a dog’s mental and physical well-being, but can it go too far? The answer is yes. Overexcitement, rough play, or excessive activity can lead to injuries, stress, or behavioural issues. Striking the right balance ensures your dog gets the benefits of play without any downsides. Signs Play Might Be Going Too Far: ⚠️ Overexcitement: If your dog becomes hyperactive, barks excessively, or struggles to calm down after play, it’s time to pause. ⚠️ Rough or Aggressive Play: Growling, snapping, or mounting can signal that play is escalating into something less friendly. ⚠️ Physical Exhaustion: Panting excessively, lagging behind, or lying down mid-play can mean your dog needs a break. ⚠️ Recurring Injuries: If your dog consistently gets hurt during play, the activity may be too intense or unsuitable for their size or age. Tips for Keeping Play Healthy and Safe: ✅ Set Time Limits: Regular short play sessions are better than long, exhausting ones. ✅ Choose Activities Wisely: Pick games that match your dog’s breed, size, and age. High-impact activities may not suit all dogs. ✅ Monitor Behaviour: Watch for signs of stress or overexcitement and intervene if needed. ✅ Incorporate Rest: Teach commands like “enough” or “settle” to signal the end of play and encourage relaxation. ✅ Support Their Health: Ensure your dog’s body can handle the physical demands of play. Use CanineCeuticals Collagen Fort to keep their joints strong and Gut Protect to maintain energy and digestion. Healthy play is about quality, not quantity. By recognising when to pause or redirect, you can ensure your dog stays happy, safe, and ready for more fun tomorrow. Why Is Your Dog Still Hyperactive Despite All the Exercise? Many dog owners believe that tiring their puppies out with repetitive ball or toy-chasing games meets their exercise needs. However, this approach often falls short. While it may enhance the chase aspect of their predatory instincts, it doesn’t help the dog to relax. When dogs engage in these high-energy activities, they experience physiological and behavioral changes due to powerful hormone releases, like adrenaline. Whether they’re chasing or being chased, heightened sensory awareness and tunnel vision can lead to a cycle of excitement, stress, and frenzy. The more thrills they encounter, the more they crave. Their surroundings can spark their interest, keeping them on high alert. This is why many owners find themselves in a vicious cycle, trying to tire their dogs out with even more activity. Even when not directly engaged, dogs often discover their own sources of excitement, which can lead to self-medication for their adrenaline needs. To help “adrenaline junkie” dogs switch off, it’s essential to create a low-stimulus environment where they clearly understand they are ‘off duty.’ A quite place like a covered crate or a quiet room away from family can work wonders, providing them with a space to decompress. In addition to physical exercise, dogs need structured activities that engage their minds. Offer controlled tasks that allow them to channel their mental energy productively, rather than simply feeding into the frenzy of fetch games.    Key Tips: - Retrain your dog to have calm reactions to previous triggers.  - Use high-value but low-excitement rewards in controlled situations. - Encourage activities that foster self-control and teach frustration management. - Reinforce calm/static behavior with rewards, moving from “go, go, go” to “wait, wait, wait.” 🌟 Poll: How do you help your dog calm down? #dogtrainer #dogbehaviorist #shailaparbatani #bhaskarchauhan #petguruacademy #thane #maharashtra #hiranandaniestate Let’s hear your thoughts!#
