BAIf you haven't yet tried Ponty's hottest restaurant, Janet's, you're missing out.
After moving from her original indoor market unit to a larger standalone venue right next door, Janet now offers a much wider range of menu items.
Originally cooking every dish from scratch by herself, Janet now has a full team creating some of the best Northern Chinese and Korean food in Wales. In fact, she recently took the top spot at the British Street Food Awards.
We recently took the whole family to sample some of the new dishes on offer.
We ordered almost everything on the starters menu, including smashed cucumber salad, kimchi pancakes, gyozas, and baos.
Among the mains, we tried the Korean volcano fried rice, bibimbap, honey chicken, and my favourite dish of the evening, the spiced cumin lamb. It was a new experience for me, with its rich and tangy flavour and spicy kick.
The food received unanimous thumbs up. It’s clear that Janet and her all-female kitchen team cook with love and passion. Llio * absolutely loves Janet and her girl power ethos. * super fan.
The food was a 10/10. We did wish for a dessert option at the end. Perhaps some ice cream sandwiches from @happyendingsldn , like the miso salted caramel and Guinness cake, would be a perfect way to finish a delicious meal.
