This is the engine we built to chase it.
Kill Devil Diesel just finished a very special 6.7L Powerstroke for KC Turbos as they bring their legendary race truck “Lucky” out of retirement for the Ultimate Callout Challenge. Lucky previously ran one of our billet 6.0 based engines, but for the 72 Fast class KC Turbos is stepping up with a purpose-built 6.7 designed to compete in one of the most competitive air-limited fuel-only classes in diesel motorsports.
The goal? 1,200-1,300+ horsepower through a single 72mm turbo. Fuel only.
To make that happen, we pulled out all the stops.
This engine features our Delta Series CNC ported cylinder heads with billet intake plenums and our small exhaust port configuration to maximize drive energy and turbo efficiency in air-limited competition. The heads include oversized nitrided stainless valves with +1mm valve sizes.
Valvetrain is handled by the Jesel Pro Steel rocker system with solid lifter inserts, paired with our custom camshaft designed specifically for the RPM window of this turbo combination.
Inside the engine:
• Steel pistons
• Total Seal gapless rings
• Wagler rods
• Billet main caps
• KDD girdle
• P1 main studs
• ARP head studs
Fuel system capacity exceeds 1,800+ horsepower thanks to KC Turbos’ injector and pump setup with our gear drive CP3 kit.
Supporting components include:
• Odawg intake manifolds custom powder coated Illusion Purple in-house
• Cerakoted front cover, water pump, and fuel rails
• KDD billet 4R100 transmission adapter
• Suncoast billet flexplate
• Fluidampr harmonic damper
• KDD custom belt routing retaining factory alternator and power steering
• KNP cleanable screen oil filter
This is one of the most purpose-built 6.7 Powerstroke competition engines we’ve assembled and we cannot wait to see it in action.
