Esta caseta no es una vivienda: es una protesta permanente.
El Gecekondu fue construido en 2012 por el movimiento vecinal Kotti & Co, como respuesta a las subidas de alquiler en viviendas sociales. Inspirado en las casas autoconstruidas en Turquía, el mensaje era claro: quedarse visibles.
Aquí se organizaron asambleas, se informó a los vecinos y se negoció con políticos.
Una forma de ocupar el espacio público para hablar de vivienda y derechos urbanos.

💰 Der Senat hatte dem Bezirk Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg einmalig 250.000 Euro zur Finanzierung bereitgestellt. Im kommenden Jahr ist das Projekt nicht mehr finanziert. Bezirksbürgermeisterin Clara Herrmann (Grüne) fordert eine dauerhafte Unterstützung.
⚖️ Kurt Wanser von der CDU hält dagegen, dass der Bezirk selbst Verantwortung übernehmen muss.
