I also used this method everyday for 10 year in a bakery. Practice makes perfect 2. A metal ruler. I like to have same size layers for my cakes. Using a ruler ensure I get the same size layer every time. 3. Turn table. I love cutting my cakes on a turntable. It is so much quicker and easier. It might take a few attempts for you to get the hang of it

What’s the hardest part of decorating cakes for you? 1️⃣ Perfect cakes don’t come from perfect piping. “I used to think the best decorators had perfect piping skills… but honestly most of the magic comes from good structure and smooth frosting.” 2️⃣ Your buttercream consistency matters more than your tools. “I bought every fancy piping tip there was, but nothing worked until I learned the right buttercream consistency.” 3️⃣ Cold cakes are your best friend. “Trying to decorate a warm cake is basically torture. Chill your cake first and everything gets easier.” 4️⃣ Not every cake has to be complicated. “Some of my most loved cakes were the simplest designs. Clean and simple almost always looks professional.” 5️⃣ You will mess up cakes.
