Karşınızda minik bir mucize: yeşil rengiyle dikkat çeken Costasiella usagi, yani Leaf Sheep deniz tavşanı. Bu sakoglossan türü yalnızca ~5 mm boyunda, ama doğada benzersiz bir stratejiye sahip: yosunlardan kloroplast çalıyor.
🧬 Yosunla beslenirken kloroplastları hücrelerine alıyor ve onları aylarca canlı tutuyor. Bu sayede hayvan olmasına rağmen tıpkı bir bitki gibi güneş ışığını enerjiye dönüştürebiliyor. Bu sıra dışı yetenek “kleptoplasti” olarak adlandırılıyor.

This adorable creature not only charms with its appearance but also surprises with its ability to photosynthesize.
