RO#Hangeul (한글) is the native alphabet of the #Korean language. 🇰🇷
Unlike most writing systems, Hangeul is written in syllable blocks, each made up of 1 initial consonant and 1 vowel (and sometimes a final consonant).
There are 14 basic consonants [ㄱ ㄴ ㄷ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅅ ㅇ ㅈ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ] ➕ 5 double consonants [ㄲ ㄸ ㅃ ㅆ ㅉ].
There are 10 basic vowels [ㅏ(a), ㅑ(ya), ㅓ(eo), ㅕ(yeo), ㅗ(o), ㅛ(yo), ㅜ(u), ㅠ(yu), ㅡ(eu), ㅣ(i) ] ➕ 12 compound vowels [ ㅐ(ae), ㅒ(yae), ㅔ(e), ㅖ(ye), ㅘ(wa), ㅙ(wae), ㅚ(oe), ㅝ(wo), ㅞ(we), ㅟ(wi), ㅢ(ui), ㅖ(ye) ].
And, each letter’s shape mirrors the position of your tongue, mouth, or throat when you pronounce it, which makes it easy to learn. 👄
