How to light your talking heads, for videographers and creators. Follow these steps and try it for yourself. 1. Block any daylight coming into the room 2. Switch on ambient lighting, such as lamps, TV or coloured light source and switch off ceiling lights 3. Key light is what lights the subject, a good key light is one which is diffused. I pair my light with a honey comb grid to reduce the spill of light on the background. The angle of the key light should be placed at 45 degrees to the camera. This will allow for a harsher shadow and more interesting look. For flatter profiles, move the light closer to the camera on a smaller angle less the 45 degrees. Thank you for watching. TALKING HEAD LIGHTING SETUP | BREAK DOWN🔥🎬 ✎————————————— As some of yall probably realized by now, probably 90% of our lighting set up is powered by @amaran.lighting . Here’s a little breakdown of the gear I use when filming talking head shots; -For my keylight, I rock an amaran 300c x SE dome | position at 45 degree angle. -As a fill light, I rocked the amaran T4c light bar mounted on an all purpose tripod leg. -For practical light in the background, I have a few amaran T2c bars, our custom neon sign & a few lamps that we’ve collected. -Lastly for motivated lighting, I hid a T4c light bar + an amaran P60c to enhance all the practical lighting I have in the background & to create depth to my shot. ✎————————————— . . . . . . . . . . . #amaran #amaranlighting #behindthescenes #bts #videoproduction #lightingsetup
