DASome phrases hit different my after you lose somebody.
Grief is really hard. Especially when it’s a loved one. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer when I was at the height of my sales career. He passed away 9 months later.
I remember a close friend reached out after we first got the news. He had lost his dad 10 years earlier. He asked how much I made per year. I told him. He offered to write me a check on the spot so I could take the year off and spend time with my dad.
That humbled me to my knees.
It was after that phone call I realized I needed to spend as much time as I could with him that year. I’d go down to Las Vegas and back to St. George, utah (my local market) all year round. We lost him 9 months later. I spiraled into a 6 month depression and it completely shook my world.
So, this phrase from the video hits home for me.
“Somebody once told me … you may have not got to spend the rest of your life with them, but the got to spend the rest of their life with you.”
