With that said I’m not worried about my “max” anything. Haven’t maxed out in years. Not my goal. So. If your goal is to get strong, drop some bodyfat, and you can’t do some of the basics then don’t worry about how much you can bench! Get good at the basics first! What are your goals? Hey you! Stop wingin’ it! You make plans for every facet of life. You plan vacations to make them run smoothly. You make a business plan to track what needs to be worked on to improve the bottom line. You make plans for a family, including what kid’s activities you have during the week and when you have a date night. Game planning makes life run smoother. That way when something unexpected comes up you can shift and still keep the task at hand. Why would you think the same does not go for your health and fitness goals? If you’ve been winging it for years, had some progress, then have stalled out trust me when I say it’s because you don’t have a clear set plan for your goals. The point of planning nutrition, workouts, recovery, and so on, just like everything above is so you can be consistent and then adjust when things come up. NO plan is ever run exactly as written, but if you give me 80% and we adjust the 20 % as needed you’d be shocked at what can be accomplished! Are you wingin’ it? Tuesday Tip! Schedule your workouts. You schedule everything else. You schedule all the events. All the after-school activities. Church events. Parties. Get-togethers. Hell, you even schedule the school spirit week daily outfit. You know, that paper that comes home Friday to tell you the daily theme each day the following week. Ie: dress up like your favorite character, wear purple, crazy hat day… I digress. The point is your workouts and health are important. I’d argue the most important. You HAVE to be able to put your mask on first. So. Schedule your workout times. Block them out on your Calendar. Schedule a twenty-minute walk after dinner, after lunch, etc. Make it a habit just like brushing your teeth! What habits are you working on?! That’s a horrible idea! 🚫 Your body wants to move! 🏃‍♂️💪 I don’t care if you only have 10 minutes—those ten minutes of movement 🕒 are way better than no movement at all! ✨ You’d be shocked at what you can accomplish in a 30-minute workout 🕒 when you’re not messing around. 🤯 Keep in mind Parkinson’s Law: “Work expands to fill the time available for its completion.” 🕰️ This means if you have 90 minutes to get a workout in, it will take 90 minutes. But let’s be real, it’s probably not time-efficient, ⏳ and there is some lollygagging going on. Whereas if you have 30 to 45 minutes to get it done, you’ll get it done in that time. ⏱️ Long story short, no workout, no matter how long or short, is a waste. Get moving! 🚶‍♀️🏋️‍♂️ #FitnessMotivation #TimeManagement #ParkinsonsLaw #WorkoutEfficiency #StayActive #FitLife #macgregors #trainforlife

To get in great shape, you need to suffer through it.⁣⁠ Make sure to never enjoy yourself and never eat Ice Cream. ⁣⁠ How many times have you stuck to a super strict diet and training program dreaming about the end where you can have your celebratory cheat meal and take a break? Was it enjoyable? ⁣⁠ Did it last? Did you maintain the results permanently?⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ Are you still doing it now and not seeing results, or did you quit because it wasn’t sustainable? ⁣⁠ And now, do you have that same weight loss goal again or even more weight to lose than last time? ⁣⁠ I’m not trying to be a jerk and call you out. However, I am calling out the flaws in that type of plan and mentality that was sold to you. ⁣⁠ You do not need to be miserable to lose weight and keep it off.⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ Here are some interesting tidbits about an effective weight loss program:⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ *Not every workout will leave you sore. It might occasionally happen, but it shouldn’t be constant. If it is, your program may be too challenging and you might not be recovering adequately, which can hinder your progress.⁣⁠ ⁠ *You might need to adjust your food choices during your journey, but that doesn’t mean you should categorize foods as “good” or “bad.” No foods are inherently off-limits while you’re working to lose fat.⁣⁠⁣⁠ However the better quality of food the better quality of your health. ⁠ *Nonstop cardio isn’t essential for fat loss, but some is vital for overall health. You don’t have to do it for hours each day. ⁠ *Supplements aren’t necessary for weight loss. They can simplify things once you have a strong diet in place. BUT they are never mandatory. ⁣⁠ I always advise clients to embrace and enjoy the process. It matters far more than attempting a drastic life change with unrealistic expectations.⁣⁠ The more pleasure you find in something, the longer you’ll stick with it.⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ Keep this in mind when you start seeing ads for the newest “lose 20 lbs in 20 days” promos.
