AVI have always been a big fan of these 6 inch mega bass mag draft. Smallmouth and largemouth bass absolutely crush them. For Ontario this smaller 5 inch size will definitely be tied on and used very often. These are the freestyle versions which can be rigged many different ways. DDFor years the swim jig has been one of my go to baits for chucking and winding, searching for stripers. I really like to cover water if I am fishing a new area or do not have a good read on the water. The swimjig for me, always finds fish. I mostly fish a 1/2oz swim jig with a 3.5-4.5 inch trailer. Last year I had extreme success with the @nomadtackle_usa badlands swim jig out on the California Delta. Recently, the new “dozer” minnow hit the market. The minnow is super durable and has great body roll. This is going to be my go to combo this year out on the Delta 🔥

Here in the Mid-Atlantic, there always seems to be a population of bass using the upper part of the water column. On any given day, there might be more or fewer fish hanging out ten feet or less under the surface. Sometimes they’re suspended on a piece of cover over twenty feet of water. Sometimes they’re relating to the bottom in five feet. But no matter what depth they’re over, they’re using the same zone.
Why they behave like this changes with the season and conditions, but that group of fish is there everywhere I go for most of the year. Often times, a glidebait is the perfect tool for targeting them.
Much like a jerkbait, a good glidebait can almost suspend with the right hardware. You can fish it erratically, or work it slow with twitches and long glides, similar to a jerkbait but with way more drawing power. And a big bass looking for a big meal is always going to be susceptible to biting this bait.
