What once seemed impossible is now a @time Best Invention of 2025 💫 Sway was born from a lifelong love of the ocean — and the learning that seaweed’s natural polymers, evolved over millennia to withstand harsh ocean conditions, can mimic plastic’s most valuable qualities. In January 2025, we launched TPSea Flex™ via blown film extrusion for the first time, proving our compostable, seaweed-based formulations could be manufactured on the world’s most scaled flexible plastic equipment. Just months later, we validated commercial-scale production. Last week, we were named a #TimeBestInvention. Our journey is a challenging one. What you see here: off-colors, crispy edges, weak seals, funky trials. What you don’t see: hundreds of formulations, failed production runs, and invisible tradeoffs. Yet our mission remains clear: to scale materials that can replenish the planet.
