COLD CASE: Today marks 48 years since a boy vanished from northeast Kansas. Jeremy Ray Coots disappeared at 4 years old at his babysitter's house, when he was outside playing. On an unseasonably warm day, on Feb. 18, 1977, Jeremy vanished. It's believed that he got swept away in the Missouri River. There was a massive search for the boy, who was also deaf, but nothing significant turned up. His mom, whom I've met and shared her story before, said her heart aches for a son she lost.
