There’s a difference between being “Certified” & being “Licensed”💯
Some of you beginner nail techs or aspiring nail techs may not want to hear this but yes it is illegal to CHARGE or even service clients if you are just certified. It’s NOT illegal to take or practice on yourself or someone your related to with their consent BUT to charge a client for a service if you are not licensed is illegal.
Yes we all wanna see that pretty penny but it comes with the education, practice & skill. Usually a certification class can take up to one or 2 days & that is not enough time to learn about everything there is to know about doing nails (for ex. Nail disorders, disinfection/sanitization, proper nail care, proper usage of products, & the list goes on) They teach you the basics.
Coming from experience here’s what I suggest:
If you are one that is thinking about getting into the nail industry, want to or what have you, I suggest you feel it out first like practice a lil. Invest in a day or 2 day class. Then if you’re really passionate about having this as your career, & YES this is a career. This is your SIGN 💫Invest in going to school, graduating, taking state board & getting your license. You invest money to get money so invest it well and be smart about it.
And again this is all coming from experience. You have to love it or want to love it. You can reap all it’s benefits if you do so correctly, trial & error,
All of this does not come overnight & im not saying my girlies that are certified arent bad ass nail techs too, they fs are, don’t get me wrong I give yall credit when it’s due fs✨Just if this is the industry you choose then I suggest you do it the right way💯
Also ain’t nothing wrong with getting more education tho when you’re licensed. Like girl go take more classes, further your education, perfect that craft, get licensed & a certification on your belt ! We love to see it & im there too☺️🤍
