Napoleon Cake. Who wants a slice? This dessert is crazy easy to make too! Ingredients for Pastry Cream 2 cups of Oat Milk 3 egg yolks 1 egg 1 cup of sugar 1 tsp vanilla paste or a whole bean pinch of salt 4 tbsp cornstarch Add the oat milk and vanilla and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil. In a separate bowl mix together the eggs, sugar, salt, & cornstarch. Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low. Whisk one spoonful of the milk into the egg mixture. Whisk quickly to temper the eggs. Add into another spoonful, while you whisk. Then add the egg mixture to the pot with the milk. Whisk until thick. Pour the pastry cream in the bowl, cover & place in the fridge to chill completely. Ingredients for Cake 2 GF puff pastry sheets 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate 1/8 cup white chocolate Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Cut the puff pastry sheets in half & bake until golden brown, approx 20 mins. Place the sheets on a cooling rack. Once cooled completely melt both chocolates & first spread the semi sweet chocolate on one puff pastry sheet, drizzle the white chocolate across the top. Let’s assemble the cake. Add the pastry cream to a pastry bag. First add one layer of puff pastry, add 1/3 of the pastry cream on top, then a pastry layer, repeat and top with the puff pastry with the chocolate. Let sit for 30 minutes for the pastry to soften slightly. Here is the viral Napoleon Cake I’ve wanted to make ever since I saw the viral TikTok video Kathy Quadrato posted! Here is my version: Napoleon cake Phyllo dough. 2 boxes thawed. Cut rolls into 1/2 inch linguine shapes, separate and fluff. Add to buttered pan. Spread out into 4 cookie sheets. Drizzle with butter (I used 1 cup melted butter) Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar- to taste Sprinkle with sliced almonds- again, the amount is up to you. Bake at 400 until golden brown- I turned my sheets after 4 minutes to make sure the baking was even… then I just watched them closely. Cream Filling: 1 1/2 cups milk Vanilla instant pudding (small box) Set aside In another bowl, 1 quart heavy cream Cup powdered sugar Teaspoon vanilla Teaspoon almond Whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in the pudding Beat until combined. Add extracts, and fold in. Assemble. Bottom layer of Phyllo, I started with 2 layers. Top with cream mixture. Another layer of phyllo dough. More cream, more phyllo dough. You will create 3 layers of phyllo dough and 2 layers of cream in total. Top with powdered sugar Serve right away or refrigerate before serving. Roan said it was the best thing I have ever made! And Roan is my most refined taster in the family! He’s hard to please! 🙋‍♀️😱 I’d love to know if you make this! 5 ingredient NAPOLEON CAKE 🍰 vegan recipe Inspired by the French mille-feuille, Napoleon Cake is made with buttery puff pastry and a sweet cream filling. I simplified (and veganized) the traditional recipe (Russian version), so that it doesn't take 1000 steps to make lol. Enjoy 😌 📝 4 servings, 2 large slices INGREDIENTS: - 1 pack @jus_rol puff pastry - 1.5 cup @alpro vanilla soya milk (sweet) - 1 cup @bionaorganic coconut milk - 3 tbsp maple syrup - 1/4 cup (40g) corn flour diluted in 1/4 cup vanilla soya milk RECIPE: 1. Cut your ready-to-use puff pastry sheet into rectangles. Poke with a fork and bake for 20-25 min at 200C (fan). Cool completely, then cut each piece in half. 2. Add vanilla soya milk, coconut milk, maple syrup and the corn flour mixture to a saucepan. Heat over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer until thick. Refrigerate until cool. 3. Assemble by spreading 2 tbsp of cream onto the each puff pastry layer. You should have 6 layers in each cake slice (2 cake slices in total). Crumble leftover pastry sheets on top. 4. Refrigerate for 1-2h. The traditional recipe calls for leaving the cake in the fridge overnight, so the pastry absorbs all the moisture. Either way is delicious! For the best result, take out of the fridge 1h before serving. 5. La crème pâtissière 600g de lait 80g de sucre 4 jaunes d'œufs 50g de maïzena 25g de beurre 2 pâtes feuilletées Faites cuire les pâtes environ 15min à 180° Au terme de la cuisson sortez les du four et laissez refroidir La crème : Mélangez les jaunes d'œufs avec le sucre et la fécule de maïs, ajoutez le lait et la vanille Transférez la casserole sur le feu et cuire jusqu’à ébullition Hors du feu ajouter le beurre Filmez au contact et laissez complètement refroidir avant de détendre la crème avec un fouet Assembler le gâteau en alternant les couches de crème et pâte Placer au frais minimum 4hr avant de découper 🇬🇧 Easy Napoleon cake Pastry cream 600g milk 80g sugar 4 egg yolks 50g cornstarch 25g butter 2 puff pastries Cook the pastries for about 15min at 180° When cooked, remove them from the oven and let cool The cream: Mix the egg yolks with the sugar and cornstarch, add the milk and vanilla Transfer the saucepan to the heat and cook until boiling Off the heat, add the butter Cover with cling film and let cool completely before loosening the cream with a whisk Assemble the cake by alternating the layers of cream and pastry Place in the fridge for at least 4 hours before cutting
