Refuse, and you’re locked out. 💡 The internet wasn’t built by Big Tech. We still have choices: ❌ Gmail → ✅ ProtonMail / Tutanota ❌ Google Chrome → ✅ Brave / Tor / LibreWolf ❌ YouTube → ✅ Odysee ❌ Google Drive → ✅ 📌 Step-by-step guide to escape Big Tech lock-in: 1️⃣ Email → Go to ProtonMail.com or Tutanota.com and click “Sign up.” Pick the free option, choose a name and password, and that’s your new safe email. Think of it like moving into a house with a stronger lock. 2️⃣ Browser → This is what you use to open websites. If you normally click the blue “e,” a compass, or the circle that says “Chrome,” we’re going to switch. Go to your phone’s app store (or search online) for Brave Browser or Tor Browser. Click “Download” or “Install,” then open it and use that to go online. It works the same as your old browser, just safer. 3️⃣ Videos → Go to Odysee.com, make a free account, and watch or upload videos there instead of YouTube. Same idea, but not controlled by Big Tech. 4️⃣ Files → These are your photos, documents, and other things you normally keep in Google Drive. With Nextcloud, you can put them in your own private “online box.” If you’re not hosting it yourself, just search “Nextcloud hosting,” sign up with a provider, and they’ll give you a link and password. From then on, upload your files there instead of Google Drive. It’s like having a locked storage box that only you have the key to. The earlier we migrate, the weaker their grip becomes. The more we resist, the harder it is to enforce.
