This song is a remembrance of who we are and where we come from. It reminds us of the Compassion and unity we are meant to embody as we create the world around us, and that our lives are a Gift passed down from our ancestors. The african chant comes from the Afa Dsiza tradition.

Meaning:
he: Pronounced "Hey," similar to "Hey" in english, for addressing someone.
govinda: name of krishna which means cowherd; (var) govindam
gopal: name of krishna which means protector of the cowherd; (var) gopala, gopalana, gopalam
hey: a heartfelt callout, usually followed by a name or description like 'hey rama', or 'hey merciful lord'
nātha: Another of Sanskrit's many ways to say "Lord."
nārāyaṇa: A name of Vishnu, Supreme God, as the preserver of the universe. Or, as the 'resting place for all living beings' ("nara" meaning living beings, or jivas).
vāsudeva: A name for Krishna, whose father was Vasudeva. Elongating the first "a" in sanskrit turns it into "the son of," meaning that "vāsudeva" is the "son of vasudeva."
The instrument is an Ngoni, an African harp. This one is made by @bikocasini and has 15 strings, tuned in a similar way to a kora.
