And here she is! The Amelia dress in all her glory! I’m getting started on the instructions and I’m hoping I can get them finished this week. She’s one of my favourite style dresses I’ve made in such a long time and I’m so happy with how it turned out! I felt as though I was having a bit of a creative lull and was feeling really deflated with no inspiration to make new styles. Making this dress seems to have fixed that and now I feel as though I’m getting back into the creative swing of things, which im so thankful for. Next up, I have the beautiful lilac floral I showed on my stories to make this dress out of! Well, jeez…I’d better show off these white linen Riviera Trousers (@nhpatterns ) before I have to hang them up until spring! 😅 Totally forgot to post these after making them about a month ago. I. Love. This. Pattern. I had shared my muslin in my stories and expressed how flabbergasted I was that the only adjustment I needed was to lower the front rise about 1/4”. That’s it. No full bum adjustment. No lengthening the back rise. And there are no darts. Wizardry, I tell you! I’ve worn these a couple times, so they’re a little loose and wrinkled (again, linen), which somehow just makes me want a margarita. 🍸 Construction changes I made: * Used my favourite Closet Core fly assembly (not because there’s anything wrong with the Riviera instructions — it’s just my go-to method that I can almost do in my sleep and I get great results every time). * Tried to do a little ‘design’ thingy with the front pocket opening, but the bottom angled corners didn’t come out as sharp as I’d hoped…not a big deal and I still like them. * Added back pockets because my bum felt a little exposed due to the totally normal transparency of the white linen. I used the pockets from the Closet Core Jenny and added a little tuck to echo the one that goes down the front of the pant. I accidentally switched the left and right ones, as I meant for the tucks to go to the outside like the front, but decided to use this as a perfectionism recovery exercise and just leave them. Nobody’s looking at the front and back at the same time anyway, right? This fabric has been in my stash for years, but I think it came from @fabricsstorecom . I do have enough left over to make a vest, which will happen at some point. I don’t currently have any autumn-ish fabrics to make another pair, but it’s on my wish list! Linen = a more casual, beach look. And a crepe = a more flowy, dressy look. This pattern is for confident beginners and comes with a instruction book.
