October 2024, I had ACL Replacement Surgery. May 2025, I got back to weightlifting. March 2026, I competed in my third competition back, in national competition - second Arnold’s. Has it been easy, NO. Has it been humbling, YES. Have I enjoyed every moment of it; the challenges and the rewards, ABSOLUTELY! I am thankful for all my friends and family who have supported me through my injury, recovery and as a weightlift. It’s not easy coming back after injury, it’s easy to overthink every movement and even doubt yourself as you protect yourself from getting injured again. But when you trust yourself and the training. Man, it’s an amazing feeling! Thank you to @kurtrod and @lakas.lavarro for being amazing coaches! And thank you to @hookgripusa for the video! Shown in the video. Snatch 75 kgs/ 165 lbs and Clean & Jerk 92 kgs/ 202 lbs. #weightlifting

10 days to go until my next major knee surgery. You’d think after 21 surgeries this would get easier… but it’s still just as hard as the first one. I honestly don’t think I could’ve done this without @anna.davey by my side. 4 knee surgeries in 2 years has been rough, but she’s gotten through 3 and now we on to the 4th!! Forever grateful for everything she does and how she always goes above and beyond to help me through these tough times. She’s seen me at my worst, dealt with my tantrums, sickness, anxiety, moments of pain but somehow always picks me back up and gets me back on track. Never underestimate how important it is to have a coach / best friend in your corner. #acl #kneesurgery #meniscus #aclrecovery prehab

Injury update. First off, huge shoutout to @barbell_benderr for giving me some great advice to rehab my SI issue, it has barely been a week and I’ve already made amazing progress! The tightness is 99% gone, pain is just mildly-moderately pinpointed on my right side. Sitting for extended periods no longer causes everything to lock up. Mobility has improved significantly, I have absolutely zero issues putting on my socks even after just getting out of bed(it would take me 5-10minutes to loosen up enough just to accomplish this simple task). Some pause reps and controlled descents with 315 today. 315x6-5 Felt great, only felt the slightest pain on the first few reps, and completely pain free for the rest. Just going to slowly build back up and take care of all the other weak points/imbalances that I discovered along the way. #rehab #deadlift #workoutmotivation #gymbro #injuries

I’ve had a lot of people ask recently why I haven’t been posting any lifts or workouts lately.. Back in September, I suffered a disc injury in my lower back that left me with debilitating sciatica pain and I lost significant function in my right leg. Basic daily tasks like walking, going up/down stairs, getting in/out of the car, and even just carrying my baby were extremely difficult for months. I lost about 20lbs and A LOT of strength just from the inactivity and medication. Too often we take for granted the little things in life and how blessed we are to wake up and do what we love to do. When setbacks happen and things are taken away it puts everything in perspective how quickly life can change. After 2 months of rest, another 3-4 months of PT/strength rehab and I’m finally finding my groove again. Haven’t done a back squat or conventional deadlift in 6 months, but I’m doing what I can. I have never shied away from a challenge. I encourage you to do the same. 🤝🏽 #strength #training #fitnessmotivation

October 5th, 2024 — I blew my elbow up. Broke my coronoid ulna process, broke my humerus, and now I’ve got severe arthritis—bone on bone—along with bone spurs and loose bodies in the joint. Possible ligament damage. It healed—but not right. Now it’s unstable, pops under load, and won’t hold position like it should. Saw a new ortho 🙏 on the 17th. MRI is next. Here's 405lbs @ 220lbs bodyweight from yesterday. 5 Weeks out.

Mar 2026: 9 months post-op. In December, I slammed my knee into a sidewalk and was devastating because it put my recovery back by a few months. I was finally building back up then BOOM, achy joint when even just trying to warm up. In the past 3 months, I have spent sooo much time focusing on re-coordination within compound lifts to get my left hamstring and quad to fire the way they were before. Still not at 100% but pretty dang good! At 125kg/275lbs, this 5kg under my all-time best set of 5! Go new ACL 🥳 (P.s. I know I’m not quite at depth, my knee still can’t load until parallel, please don’t send me to the gallows)

23 WEEKS POST SURGERY. Feeling blessed and lucky to be under 275 for the first time since surgery. Full strength, full depth. Absolutely a treat to get to feel my body again. I keep telling people that getting injured was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Galvanized my spirit, and help me lock in to a place I’ve never been before. It truly goes to show that God uses both the fortunate things and the unfortunate things in your life for the highest good. Please remember that.
