SHInstagram is rolling out a new alert that will notify parents if their teen repeatedly searches for suicide or self-harm terms.
The update comes as a landmark social media trial begins in Los Angeles. It is part of a group of lawsuits filed by more than 1,600 plaintiffs, including families and school districts, accusing Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Snap of designing addictive products that harm young users’ mental health.
