I can’t stress this enough - it is essential that we all become good food label readers!! It is near impossible in our modern food landscape to get away from all artificial ingredients, they are hidden everywhere, BUT with the awareness and making better choices we absolutely can hugely reduce our exposure to them. This example of swapping Tesco own brand cream cheese instead of Philadelphia is a prime example! How many of us just automatically reach for the Philadelphia or other well known brands purely due to the fact that their advertising has worked on us?! We assume this more expensive product must be better than the supermarket brand… but this is not always the case! We really cannot assume anything about a packaged food based on the marketing claims on the front of the pack… One small thing we can all do to improve our health is become a food packaging label reader!! Read the ingredients before purchasing … having the awareness will really help to navigate your exposure to artificial ingredients. And ideally reduce the amount of packaged foods you eat overall and opt for whole foods where possible 👌❤️ I’m curious… Do you read the ingredients on packets before purchasing?! At least I’ve been having more fibre… After doing a few videos like this now I can see people have had similar experiences. Nuts, rice, butter, oil have all been requested so this is me seeing to that haha Finally weighing out what was previously eyeballed can be surprising… but at the same time useful. It’s not to say you can’t eat 50 grams of nuts if you want to. But imagine you’re trying to slightly lower your caloric intake, making smart changes here and there but missing calories like this because you didn’t weight it. Missing 200 cals here and there can add up. Which could ruin a deficit you’re working hard to achieve. I see it a lot with clients… “yeah I’m on about 1500 cals and not losing” but then you ask them to weigh stuff out and they get a shock. Weighing out, initially, gives you a great idea of what portions and calories look like. If you’re new to this and are coming from a long line of fad diets that vilify certain foods and want to make real progress. Simple steps like this can really help. No food is bad or making you fat. But overeating, without realising, can prevent you from seeing results. With something like kitchen scales, you can see that you can eat what you enjoy as long as you’re mindful with the quantity. And remember, it’s not a forever thing. Just an opportunity to learn what your body actually requires. And in weighing it, you can also get accurate protein and fibre measurements too. #nutrition #gym #viral #fitness

In order to provide your body with sufficient energy and maximise your performance, prioritise easily digestible carbohydrates 30 - 45 minutes prior to training. ➡️ POST-TRAINING: Ensure that you are proactively reducing fatigue and restoring your body by refuelling with protein post-training. Protein supports muscle repair and muscle protein synthesis. ➡️ DAILY NUTRITION: Your daily protein requirements are important. As a guide, aim to consume 1.6 - 2.2g of protein per kilogram of body mass per day. #nutrition #sportsnutrition #nutritionist #preworkout
