This is an interesting question, and the answer is not as clear as I immediately thought. I have played many "crap" guitars that are absolutely fantastic. Bad fretwork, action so high you could ride a bike under the strings, scratchy electronics, feedback prone, unstable tuning, but alive and inspiring to play (old soviet, Japanese lawsuit guitars for example) And on the flip side (naming no names) I have played many very high end (albeit factory) guitars that have posh hardware, expensive off the shelf pickups, nice woods, that are absolutely dead in the hands. I *think* my answer is arguably correct. Obviously my (impossible) aim is always perfection in all aspects, I am not advocating for unpolished frets, but a responsive sound, but if I had to choose, I know what I would go for. What do you think?

this is so stupid lmao sure, there may be a perfectly designed trem system for Stratocasters and sure, maybe this wasn’t even a hard tail before I hardtail’d it and added a bigsby... but I wanted to! SO excited to share more details on this build - I got reallly lucky and got my hands on a really rad loaded pickguard from a brand that existed briefly in 2016, repurposed the body of a cheap temu strat, and added a roasted maple neck with the gorgeous big 70s headstock. I’ll be posting more detailed clips soon! #diyguitar #partscaster #bigsby
