Perhaps, I did love people too.
I just never realised it.
Bittersweet, our love has been.
I knew it won't last, the day we first kissed.
But who in the world could stop a want?
How in the world
could I deny your warmth?
Now look here we are,
Damaged, stranded like a broken piece,
or maybe... maybe it's just me.
Ah! Pathetic is my life,
For someone who couldn't love
I sure gave too many chances.
For someone so hurt,
I let them all break my branches.
I feel too small now.
Yet the world you belong to
is still so much smaller.
I miss you.
I don't want to but I still do.
And I hate you.
Although I can't but I need to.
And yet on the nights when I remember your smile
I can't help but think of the brown in your eyes
and how it glimmered in the sunlight
when I caressed your cheek and looked into your eyes.
You always caved in to my smiles.
But we were too soft
Or the world too brazen, too fast
to pass by me before you could ever hold my arm
I watched you slowly fading in the dark.
Didn't you say you would bring me the light?
Didn't you promise to give me all the love, others only lied?
Bittersweet, the truth is a bit too bittersweet.
Yet I kept trying to sugarcoat it.
I often wonder which one of you is the real you.
The one to love me or the one who didn't.
The one who held me when my world fell apart.
Or the one who told me I will tear your heart.
Or are you none of them?
Or maybe you were all of it
and I was always wrong.
The wind that caresses the warmth of my eyes,
Often whisper and sing me lullabys.
That all of it was me and only me.
That all that matters is me and only me.
That I need to stop telling myself I can't love.
I only sabotaged it all because I was hurt.
That it's okay to love even though you can't
for this feeling of onsra will one day end.
