RAS is for Strong Kicks
Here’s a way to strengthen your legs 🦵 and kicks if you’d like to feel more confident with your front kicks .
The Set Up:
Start with body weight squats and do 3 x 12 reps
-go mid tempo with good range , engaging the core and lifting the chest and keeping the knees aligned by pushing out and back into the bottom range .
5 seconds rest if needed but ideally keep limited rest
The build up :
Add a plate in each hand of a weight that feels heavy but light enough to hold without collapsing the upper body🤘🏾
Repeat the 3 x 12 reps with added plates 🌶️ 🥵
The breather :
Drop the plates either side a safe distance and immediately reset posture at the bottom of the squat with a lifted chest , abdominal muscles engaged and take a breath . .
The finisher :
Now drive out of the squat into a Front Kick and repeat on alternating legs 3 x 12 reps total
Movement tips :
Push the grounded foot 🦶 into the floor and transfer your weight into it as you rise .
Pull the arm down as you lift the knee of the kicking leg
Engage the core
Extend the lower leg and exhale at end of range as you simultaneously squeeze the glutes of the grounded leg
For the nice and spicy 🌶️ options :
Do all 12 kicks on the same leg 😈
Do 5x 12 reps on each exercise
