Estima-se que até 30.000 empregos podem ter sido cortados globalmente, o que representaria cerca de 18% da força de trabalho da empresa, afetando pessoas nos Estados Unidos, Índia, Canadá, México, Uruguai e outros países.
Os cortes atingiram profissionais de diversas áreas, desde engenheiros de software e arquitetos técnicos até gestores, especialistas de produto e operações.
O motivo por trás da medida é parte de um grande redesenho estratégico da Oracle para priorizar investimentos em inteligência artificial e construção de data centers de IA, uma aposta que a empresa acredita ser crucial para competir no mercado de tecnologia do futuro.
