I like to spray anywhere from 10-20 sprays for this category of perfumes for very close tight places and 25-35+ for outdoor areas or large events. Winter fragrances - with a spotlight on Styrax Styrax may sound like it comes from the Styrax tree — but it doesn’t. The rich, balsamic resin used in perfumery is actually harvested from Liquidambar trees, also known as sweetgum. When the bark is cut, these trees release a sticky sap that’s aged into a smoky, leathery, vanilla-like resin. Early perfumers mistakenly called it “styrax,” and the name stuck — even though the botanical source is completely different. Loved for its warm, smoky sweetness and fixative strength, Styrax adds a rich, vintage soul to perfumes.
